What should I know about French numbers?

French numbers are easy to read: 06 and 07 are mobile, 09 is the classic range for internet-box telephony. A service that wants a mobile can check the first two digits, so a French 09 number is refused where a 06 or 07 number is accepted.

French WhatsApp and Telegram codes are dearer than in most of Europe: SMSPool listed $2.02 and $3.01 in October 2026, and 5SIM $3.00 and $2.50. Google codes were cheaper at $0.97 and $0.19.

Frequently asked questions

Are French 07 numbers mobile numbers?

Yes. Both 06 and 07 are mobile ranges in France; 07 was opened when 06 numbers ran short.

How do I enter a French number in an app?

Use +33 and drop the leading 0: 06 12 34 56 78 becomes +33 6 12 34 56 78.

Is a non-VoIP number always accepted?

No. A non-VoIP number is classed as mobile in carrier databases, which most sign-up forms accept, but each service sets its own rules and can still refuse a number. If that happens, cancel the order and the price goes back to your balance.

Do I need to verify my identity?

No. RealSIM Numbers asks for no ID, no selfie and no documents: an email and a password open an account. The acceptable use policy still applies to every order.
